Infant Swimming Resource® of Brevard County

The safest possible swim lessons for the ones you love most!  We are proud to provide ISR lessons, the ONLY swim lessons with scientific and medical backing, to Brevard County.  Designed specifically for children ages 6 months to 6 years old, we take pride in providing both the competence and confidence to safely enjoy the water.

About ISR

Founded in 1966, Infant Swimming Resource® is the global leader in the children's swim lesson industry, and sets the standard in survival based swim lessons for children ages 6 months to 6 years old.

Always putting safety first, ISR emphasizes competence, which leads to confidence, and provides the foundation for a lifetime of enjoyment in and around the water.

Our instructors undergo extensive training along with their hands on training, in several areas including, but not limited to:

Child Development

Behavioral Science

Learning Theory

Anatomy & Physiology

Common Medical Conditions

Instructors are also required to continue their education and re-certify every year.  This ensures that you are getting the best of the best for your children.  ISR instructors are fully insured and maintain active CPR/First aid certifications.

6 months+

As young as 6 months old, children who are able to sit independently, can learn to save themselves should they find themselves alone in a body of water.  These students learn how to float independently, roll into a float from several different presentations, and make proper adjustments to maintain a floating position.  We recommend children starting lessons at 6 months old.  The Sooner, The Safer!

12 months - 6 years

Once a child is 12 months old, walking, and meeting all necessary developmental milestones, they will learn the swim-float-swim sequence.  These students learn to swim with their face down in the water, roll onto their backs to float, and flip over to resume swimming.  They will learn to repeat this sequence as needed.

Coach Kasey not only taught our daughter the necessary skills to survive in the water, but also thrive. She gave our daughter the confidence needed to respect and love the water. She has unwavering patience and understanding that is on display with all of her minnows. Our daughter could not wait to go to swim lessons, which was not the case with previous swim lessons. We will miss seeing Coach Kasey’s smiling face every day!
